Angels bring hope and inspiration in times of darkness and despair. They fulfill our beings with light and offer us wisdom, guidance and support. They help us to discover our life’s mission, to understand and solve our problems from a superior viewpoint, and to heal our body‘s ailments and emotional wounds. All we have to do is ask – and open ourselves for their inspiration or even miraculous intervention.

Endless stories and testimonies point to their existence and describe their often miraculous interventions. Emanuel Swedenborg‘s published various books on his conversations with angels, and Gitta Mallasz‘s „Talking with Angels“ can be considered a must-read, transmitting not only the endless love the angels manifest towards humanity, but also their uncompromising firmness and incomprehensible power. Also Robert Monroe, specialist in astral projections, describes in his books several meetings with angelic entities that he had during his journeys out of the body.

The reality of the angels is accessible to everyone, and the more open, faithful and pure we are, the easier it is to connect and receive their guidance and support through intuitions and synchronicities. Also direct telepathic communication is possible, but even if we do not (yet) have the capacity of such direct contact, our guardian angel is always at our side, inspiring us to the degree of our openness, and saving us from severe threats – if we also listen. We could consider our guardian angel as an invisible „best friend“ from another dimension, and proof ourselves its existence by frequently asking for help not only in big need but also the small matters of daily life. We will discover to our surprise how easy it is for them to arrange even the most improbable circumstances that solve our problem, fulfill our needs, or bring us closer to our integrated wishes.

The angels are not only known in the various Christian traditions, but in many other religions and spiritual systems. In Islam they play an important role as „Malaikah“, especially Archangel Gabriel who revealed the Qur‘an. In Judaism the „Malachim“ are well known as the messengers of God. In Hinduism the angels are called „Devas“, the „shining ones“, and also Buddhism describes them under the same name as“ emanations of light energy“. At first sight the world of angels seems to not have any connection to the traditional Yoga systems, but considering their universal role and existence, they cannot be excluded from any spiritual path and not even from any aspect of daily life – a life in a universe that is structured and maintained by the angelic hierarchies following the will of its Creator.

The idea of the „Angels and Archangels Week“ was born in 2002, when our Swedish yoga instructor Georgiana Danet was inspired to turn Halloween – which has become nowadays more of a dark party of witches, vampires and skeletons – into a celebration of light. For one week, the city of Karlskrona was delighted by free concerts with “angelic“ classical music, angels were displayed in shops, and churches presented paragraphs from the bible about angels. Coffee shops offered biscuits in angel shape, elementary schools celebrated an angel’s party instead of a Halloween party. Angel parades through the whole city center, spiritual theater plays, angel corners in libraries and angel exhibitions in the theater hall followed after a while. The idea was soon followed by all our international yoga centers and is now celebrated in over 30 countries, including our online yoga academy. Two spiritual exemplifications with aspects of the angels and certain archangels are offered every day during these eight days of celebration. The unison engagement of thousands of yogis worldwide amplifies the results and experiences tremendously and creates a „collective field“ supporting each individual participant to easily enter into communion with the exemplified aspects. Extensive information is presented during the lectures about each of these aspects, and a true highlight for this year is a method that helps us to purify and awaken our spiritual heart with the help of the angels.
